HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 1985 - 094 - Approving and confirming report and account of the cost of abatement of unsafe buildings and debris • l RESOLUTION NO. „9,)A'"" � A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING APPROVING AND CONFIRMING REPORT AND ACCOUNT OF THE COST OF ABATEMENT OF UNSAFE BUILDINGS AND DEBRIS ON THE PARRA PRO- PERTY AT 1445 GRANGE STREET. WHEREAS , the Fire Marshal of the City of Redding has sub- mitted to the City Council for confirmation, a report and account of the cost of abatement of unsafe buildings and debris on the property owned by Dennis and Vivian Parra, being Parcel No. 104-620-23 located at 1445 Grange Street, Redding, California, and more particularly described as follows : Real property situate in the City of Redding, County of Shasta, State of California, described as follows: Commencing at a 12" iron pipe marking the southeast corner of Block 16 of Park Subdivision as shown on map recorded May 25 , 1936 in Book 5 of Maps at page 12 , Shasta County Records; thence S. 1°29 ' 35" W. , a distance of 50 feet to a 3/4" iron pipe which is the true point of beginning of this description; thence from said point of beginning S. 1°29 ' 35" W. , a distance of 121 . 15 feet to a 12" pipe marked L.S. 2208; thence N. 87°52 ' 01" W. , a distance of 159 . 32 feet to a 12" iron pipe set on the easterly right of way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad; thence N. 7°41 ' 30" W. on and along said easterly right of way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad, a distance of 121 . 15 feet to a 11/2" iron pipe; thence S. 88°36 ' 10" E. , a distance of 178 . 64 feet to the point of beginning. Excepting therefrom all minerals and all oil, gas and other hydrocarbon substances in and under said land below a depth of five hundred feet, without the right of surface entry, as reserved by Atlantic Richfield Company, a Pennsylvania corporation, in the deed recorded February 6 , 1974 in Book 1210 of Official Records at page 618 , Shasta County Records. WHEREAS , the demolition and removal work done on said property, for which said costs were incurred, was done pursuant a to the provisions of the City Code, and the owner of the subject ft I property was notified in advance of all proceedings herein as provided for in said Code; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is categor- ically exempt from the provisions of CEQA; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding does hereby approve and confirm the report and account of the cost of demolition and removal of unsafe buildings and debris on the subject property. These costs shall constitute a lien on said property and shall be collected in the manner of ordinary taxes by the Tax Collector of the County of Shasta, acting for the City of Redding. The City Clerk of the City of Redding is directed to send a copy of this resolution and the report of the Fire Marshal herein to the County Auditor of Shasta County, certified mail, for that purpose.
