HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 1986 - 310 - Approving the application for 1986 community parkland funds for phase vii of the sacramento river trail which includes a pedestrian bridge 1 RESOLUTION NO. 8G _3/v A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR 1986 COMMUNITY PARKLAND FUNDS FOR PHASE VII OF THE SACRAMENTO RIVER TRAIL, WHICH INCLUDES A PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE. WHEREAS, the People of the State of California have enacted the Community Parkland Act of 1986 which administers State funds directed to the State of California and its political subdivi- sions for the development of facilities for public recreation; and WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility of administration of the program within the State, and setting up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies under the program; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and Recreation require the applicants to certify by Resolution the approval of applications prior to submission of said applications to the State; and WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the applicants must comply with; and WHEREAS, the applicant agencies will enter into agreements with the State of California for the acquisition and/or develop- ment of projects; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding hereby: 1 . Approves the filing of an application for Community . • • • Parkland Funds under the Community Parkland Act of 1986 for Phase VII of the Sacramento River Trail, which includes a pedestrian bridge; 2. Certifies that said Agency understands the assurances and certifications in its application; 3 . Certifies that said Agency has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the Project; 4. Certifies that said Agency will complete the Project within three (3) years from date of approval by the State; and 5. Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City to conduct all negotiations and to execute and submit all documents, including, but not limited to, applications , agreements, amend- ments , payment requests, and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned Project. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 19th day of November, 1986 , and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote: AYES: Carter, Dahl , Gard, Johannessen, & Fulton NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None ,‘J')i-e—iiir"" '79 LEE D.
