HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 1986 - 196 - Pertaining to action sports promotions 1986 vulcan tour bicycle classic race • • RESOLUTION N0. g4 G ^`f A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING PERTAINING TO ACTION SPORTS PROMOTIONS' 1986 VULCAN TOUR BICYCLE CLASSIC RACE. WHEREAS, Action Sports Promotions desires to hold the Vulcan Tour Bicycle Classic in the City of Redding on September 17 , 1986, through September 21 , 1986; and WHEREAS , certain requests have been made of the City Council in connection with parking and the use of certain streets during said bicycle race; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of Redding to encourage the growth and success of said Vulcan Tour Bicycle Races; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is not subject to the provisions of CEQA; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as follows: 1 . That all of the foregoing recitals are true and correct. 2 . That it is deemed to be in the best interests of the City of Redding to grant the requests of Action Sports Promotions , and to that end the Chief of Police, in cooperation with the Director of Public Works, is directed to accomplish the following: a. Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on both sides of • • : ' Division Street from California Street to Center Street between the hours of 5: 15 p.m. and 8 : 30 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 1986 , for the Stage III Downtown Redding activities as depicted in the drawing attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. b. Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on both sides of Shasta Street from California Street to Center Street between the hours of 5 : 15 p.m. and 8 : 30 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 1986 , for the Stage III Downtown Redding Criterium activities as depicted in the attached drawing. c. Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on both sides of Center Street from Division Street to Shasta Street between the hours of 5: 15 p.m. and 8 : 30 p.m. on Friday, September 19 , 1986 , for the Stage III Downtown Redding Criterium activities as depicted in the attached drawing. d. Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on the west row of Public Parking Lots numbered 8 , 9 and 10 Ironting on California Street between the hours of 5 : 15 p.m. and 8: 30 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 1986 , for the Stage III Downtown Redding Criterium activities as depicted in the attached drawing. e. Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on both sides of California Street from Division Street to Sacramento Street between the hours of 5 : 15 p.m. and 8 : 30 p.m. on -2- • • • Friday, September 19, 1986 , for the Stage III Downtown Redding Criterium activities as depicted in the attached drawing. f. Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on both sides of Placer Street from California Street to Market Street between the hours of 5 : 15 p.m. and 8 : 30 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 1986, for the Stage III Downtown Redding Criterium activities as depicted in the attached drawing. g. Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on both sides of Sacramento Street from California Street to Market Street between the hours of 5 : 15 p.m. and 8: 30 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 1986 , for the Stage II1I Downtown Redding Criterium activities as depicted in the attached drawing. h. Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on both sides of Market Street from Placer Street to Sacramento Street between the hours of 5 : 15 p.m. and 8 : 30 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 1986 , for the Stage III Downtown Redding Criterium activities as depicted in the attached drawing. i. Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on the access roads surrounding the Civic Auditorium, and prohibit parking and permit restricted vehicular traffic on Auditorium Drive and over the gravel areas between the the hours of 8 : 00 a.m. and 6 : 00 p.m. on Sunday, -3- .. . . . - • • September 21, 1986 , for the Ring of Firel Criterium Stage V activities as depicted in the drawing attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. 3. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to install appropriate signs and barricades to accomplish the purpose of this Resolution. 4. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to place a public notice in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Redding to inform the citizens of Redding of the street closures and parking prohibitions to be imposed.
