HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 1986 - 013 - Prohibiting parking at all times 1 along the westburb line of churn creek road a distance of 100 feet from the south right-of-way • 411 RESOLUTION NO. 5413 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING PROHIBITING PARKING AT ALL TIMES (1) ALONG THE WEST CURB LINE OF CHURN CREEK ROAD A DISTANCE OF 100 FEET FROM THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF LOMA VISTA; AND (2) 100 FEET OF PARKING ON THE NORTH CURB LINE OF PLACER STREET FROM THE PROLONGATION OF THE WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF MAGNOLIA STREET. WHEREAS, Section 11 . 24. 040 of the Redding Municipal Code specifically provides that the City Council may designate, by resolution, additional areas unsuitable, dangerous or incon- venient for parking purposes; and WHEREAS, the Traffic and Parking Commission has recommended that the City Council prohibit parking along the west curb line of Churn Creek Road a distance of 100 feet from the south Right- of-Way line of Loma Vista to increase motorist sight distance; and WHEREAS, the Traffic and Parking Commission has recommended that the City Council prohibit 100 feet of parking on the north curb line of Placer Street from the prolongation of the west Right-of-Way line of Magnolia Street to improve the sight distance of the downhill Placer approach; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Redding to adopt such recommendations; and WHEREAS , it has been determined that this matter is cate- gorically exempt from the provisions of CEQA; 1 Cw 1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as follows : 1 . That parking is prohibited at all times along the west curb line of Churn Creek Road a distance of 100 feet from the south Right-of-Way line of Loma Vista. 2 . That 100 feet of parking is prohibited at all times on the north curb line of placer Street from the prolongation of the west Right-of-Way line of Magnolia Street. 3 . That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to install appropriate signs and markings to accom- plish the purpose of this Resolution.
