HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 1987 - 271 - Approving the installment payment agreement dated august 27, 1987 between the city of redding and international business machines III RESOLUTION NO. 197-27/ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING APPROVING THE INSTALLMENT PAYMENT AGREEMENT DATED AUGUST 27 , 1987 , BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDDING AND INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION TO UPGRADE THE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT FOR THE INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION. 1 WHEREAS , the Information Systems Department presently uses an IBM System/38 Model 600 mainframe cOmputer with a memory capacity of 16 megabytes, which services all departments of the City with 154 terminals and 14 printers attached to it and WHEREAS , the computer system has reached a point, where , to maintain adequate performance and response time, an lupgrade to Model 700 is needed; and WHEREAS, the Director of Data Processing has recommended increasing the internal speed and memory size at I'a cost of $70 ,000 . 00 to be paid in 60 monthly installments ofd $1 ,450 .41 each; and WHEREAS, moneys were appropriated in the 1987-88 ,budget for this expenditure; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Cityl�Council of the City of Redding as follows: 1 . That the City Council of the City of Redding hereby approves Installment Payment Agreement No. G720172 dated August 27 , 1987 , between the City of Redding and International j \ • • Business Machines Corporation, in the amount of $701, 000 .00 , a true copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, on the terms and conditions stated therein; and 2 . That the Mayor of the City of Redding is hereby authorized and directed to sign said Agreement and all necessary documentation on behalf of the City of Redding in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to attest the signature of the Mayor and to impress the official seal of the City of Redding on the aforesaid documents, when appropriate.
