HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 1987 - 127 - Abatement under chapter 9.36 of the redding municipal code on three buildings located on that certain real property in the city of redding _.� ., � �s��� � • ���=n;.-.�. .,, EST OF ��.�$���,� �'�� ��co �.a�E.R�E���i�. . .n..... �ITY OF �EDUING . 760 Parkview Ave. QY.......... .... tdlN.PAST.........��.l,�..�v ���ir,�l��c:oFr.a ske,sr�a�suraTr.cAi.i� Redding, CA. 96001 �ia� � 0 1987 RESOLUTION NO. � ������,/ p , �"'f�✓ �ECORDER FEE� ....��.��� � � A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING OF INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT UNDER CHAPTER 9. 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON THREE BUILDINGS LOCATED ON THAT CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING (OWNED BY JIM WESTBERG, A MARRIED MAN, AS TO AN UNDIVIDED 1/2 INTEREST; JACK BUFFUM, AN UNMARR.IED MAN, AS TO AN UNDIVIDED 1/4 INTEREST; AND JIM WESTBERG APdD �7ULIE WESTBERG, HIS WIFE, AS COMMUNITY PROPERTY, AS TO AN UNDIVIDED 1/4 INTEREST) WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures located within the City of Redding which are structurally unsafe or are dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay or other causes which constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life or a likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a nuisance by the City Council of the City of Redding and there- a�ter abated as provided therein; and WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal of the City of Redding has made an inspection of the three buildings located on real property as hereinafter described and has declared them to be unsafe and/or a hazard to safety, health and public welfare; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is categorically exempt from the provisions of CEQA; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding that it is the intention of this City Council to begin legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code on the three buildings located on the real property described as follows, and outlined in yellow on Exhibit "A" attached hereto: That certain real property situate in the City of Redding, County of Shasta, State of California, described as follows: Lots 26 through 33 inclusive, Block l , as shown on the map �'� of Alta Subdivision recorded in the office of the County � Recorder April 29, 1939, in Book 5 of Maps at page 53 , .� Shasta County Records. � BOOK�J_��PGGE C�J � � . , , � � , . • BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said three buildings mentioned hereinabove are hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code and are hereby ordered to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the Board of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all proceedings provided in Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Redding be and hereby is authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Shasta County Recorder for recordation.
