A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY W >58f§E$Off''•'•••••
INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT UNDER
CHAPTER 9. 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON THE STORAGE
BUILDING LOCATED ON THAT CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY
OF REDDING (OWNED BY JOE W.F. QUAN AND MAY QUAN) .
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures located
within the City of Redding which are structurally unsafe or are
dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay or other causes which
constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life or a
likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons , may be declared a
nuisance by the City Council of the City of Redding and there-
after abated as provided therein; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal of the City of Redding has made an
inspection of the storage building located on real property as
hereinafter described and has declared it to be unsafe and/or a
hazard to safety, health and public welfare; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is categor-
ically exempt from the provisions of CEQA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redding that it is the intention of this City Council to
begin legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9. 36 of the
Redding Municipal Code on the storage building located on the
real property described on Exhibit "A" and shown darkened on
Exhibit "B" attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said storage building mentioned

hereinabove is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as
provided by Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code and is
hereby ordered to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition
or removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the Board
of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all
proceedings provided in Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal
Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Redding be and hereby is authorized and directed to forward a
certified copy of this resolution to the Shasta County Recorder
for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 5th day of May , 1987, and
was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

That certain real property situate in the City of Redding,
County of Shasta, State of California, described as follows:
PARCEL 1:
Lot 9, Block 3, as shown on the map of Parson's Subdivision, filed
in the Office of the County Recorder July 19, 1946 in. Book 6 of
Maps at page 19, Shasta County Records.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the South 18.00 feet thereto.
. ALSO EXCEPTING THEREFROM the parcel of land described in the Deed
to the State of California, recorded January 18, 1974 in Book 1206
of Official Records, page 77, Shasta County Records.
PARCEL 2:
The North 42 feet of Lot 8 and the South 18 feet of Lot 9, Block
3 of Parson's Subdivision as shown on the map of Parson's Subdivision
per map filed in. Book 6 of Maps at page 19, Shasta County Records.
PARCEL 3:
The South 60 feet of Lot 8 in Block 3, as shown on the map of Parson's
Subdivision recorded in the office of the County Recorder, July
9, 1946 in Book 6 of Maps at page 19, Shasta County Records.
