HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2022-058 - Approving Public Risk Innovation, Solutions, And Management As The City’s Excess Workers’ Compensation Insurance RESaLUTIOlY NQ. 2022-Q58 A RESOLUTION t�F THE CITY COUNCIL OF TI3E CITY OF REDDING APPROVING PUBLIC RISK INNOVATION, SOLUTIONS, AND MANAGEMENT (PRISM) AS THE CITY'S EXCESS �ORI�ERS' COMPENSATION INSURANCE PROVIDER FOR FISCAL YEAR 2022-23 AND DELEGATING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO ACT QN BEHALF OF THE CITY Ft}R AS LONG AS THE CITY IS A MEMBER QF THE JQINT POWERS AGREEMENT (JPA)WITH PRISM WHEREAS,staff has recammended approving Public Risk Innovation, Solutions,and Management(PRISM) as the City's excess wc�rkers' compensatian insurance pravider and delegating the City Manager or his designee to aet on behalf of the City af Redding for as long as the City is a member of the Joint Pawers Agreement (JPA) PRISM; and V�HEREAS,the PRISM has determined that it is necessary for each member af the Authority ta delegate to a person(s) or position{s) autharity to act Qn the members behalf in matters relating ta the member and the Autharity; and WHEREAS, except as to those actions that must be apprflved by the City of Redding, such delegation of authority is necessary in order to carry out the purposes and function of the Authority with its members; and WHEREAS,the City Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City to adopt such reeommendation; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS �[EREBY �:ESOLVED by the City Cauncil that the City shaI1 enter into an agreement with Public Risk Innovatifln, Solutions, and Management (PRISM) and delegate the City Manager or designee to act on behalf of the City of Redding an all matters relating to the member and the Authority for as long as the City is a member of the Jaint Powers Agreement (JPA) PRISM.
