LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICTS
A RESOLUTION (?F THE CITY COUNCIL QF THE CITY OF REDDING
APPRUVING THE REPC}RT QF THE ENGINEER AS FILED AND DECLARING
ITS INTENTION TO:
(1) SET A PUBLIC HEARING DATE REGARDING TIIE FOLLOWING
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICTS: A,B,AND C;
(2} LEVY AND COLLECT ASSESSMENTS IN THESE DISTRICTS FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2Q22-23 PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING AND
LIGHTING ACT OF 1972,COMMENCING WITH SECTIt�N 22500 OF THE
STREETS AND HIGI3WAYS CODE
WHEREAS:
A. The City Council heretofore ordered the consolidated formation of the fc�llowing Landscape
Maintenance Districts under authority granted by the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972 as
outlined in Part 2 of Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
B. The purpose of these Districts is to provide maintenance ta those landscaping improvements
required within the public rights-of-way andlor easements by the cflnditions of development approval
for each District and the generallocations as autlined in the table belaw.
C. The Engineer has filed his report with the City Clerk accarding to Streets and Highways Code
Section 22565, et seq.
D. This Resolution satisfies of thase requirements outlined in the Streets and Highways Code Section
22624.
NQW,THEREFORE,IT IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL TI-�AT:
1. The matters set forth above are true, correct, and are adopted herein.
2. According to the Streets and Highways Code §22b23, the Engineer's Repart, as filed, is hereby
approved.
3. The Engineer's Report, on file with the City Cierk, contains a complete and detailed descriptian of
the impravements, the boundaries of the District and any zones therein, and the praposed
assessments upon the assessable acres and remaining parce(s within the District.
4. The existing improvements far eaeh subdivision in the District are outlined in Part B of the
Engineer's Reparts on fi1e with the City C1erk. c�

5. The general laeations of the acres and remaining parcels in the District are outlined in Part A af the �'
Engilzeer's Reports on file with the City Clerk, �

6. Qn1y costs for the maintenance of landscaping, miseellaneaus lighting, mulching, vandalism,
repairs to the irrigation system, electric and water charges, replacement of vegetation as necessary,
remaval of trimmings, rubbish, and debris, maintenance of the detention basin, and other �
improvements to remove ar cover graffiti, administrative costs,painting of any walls, and such other „�
maintenance and incidental expenses as are authorized by Streets and Highways Code Sections -�
22526 and 22531 wi11 be assessed. '
7. A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, July l9, 2022, at the hour of 6:Q0 p.m., or as soon
thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the City Council Chambers located at 7'77 Cypress Avenue,
Redding, California, to address the confirmatian and approval of the proposed assessment for the
Fiscal Year 2022-23. The proposed assessment for the Fiscal Year 2Q22-23 is autlined in the table
below. The Council intends to levy said assessment as indicated in the table below for the Fiscal
Year 2022-23.
8. The City Clerk sha11 give notice of said hearin� according to the Streets and Highways Code
Section 22626(a).
