HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - 1983-08-29 220 City Council , Special Meeting Police Dept. & Council Chambers Redding, California August 29, 1983 12:00 Noon The meeting was called to order by Mayor Gard with the following Council Members present: Demsher, Kirkpatrick, Pugh, and Gard. Council Members absent: Fulton Also present were City Manager Courtney, Public Works Director Arness, Electric Director Lindley, Associate Civil Engineer Mathis, Finance Direc- tor Downing, Deputy City Clerk Strohmayer, and Minute Clerk Rupp. RESOLUTION - re Amendment No. 2, Grant Agreement for AIP Project, Runway and Taxiway Improvements at Redding Municipal Airport Associate Civil Engineer Mathis advised Council that the purpose of this special meeting is to deal with some items relative to the Municipal Airport construction project for which the City received bids last Wednes- day, August 24, 1983. He said it is in order to adopt a resolution approv- ing the amendment to the Grant Agreement which will allow the City to develop the taxiways with 20-foot macadam shoulders on either side. These 20-foot macadam shoulders were not originally contemplated in designs Y submitted to the FAA. Mr. Mathis also recommended that the negative 0 declaration be ratified and the bid be awarded subject to receiving formal approval from FAA. MOTION: Made by Councilman Kirkpatrick, seconded by Councilman Demsher that Resolution No. 83-166 be adopted, a resolution of the City Council of the City of Redding accepting Amendment No. 2 to AIP project No. 3-06-0194- 01 and authorizing the City Manager to execute said amendment. Voting was as follows: Ayes: Council Members - Demsher, Kirkpatrick, Pugh, and Gard Noes: Council Members - None Absent: Council Members - Fulton Resolution No. 83-166 is on file in the office of the City Clerk. AWARD OF BID - Bid Schedule No. 1471 , Construction of Municipal Airport Taxiway and Ratify Negative Declaration MOTION: Made by Councilman Kirkpatrick, seconded by Councilman Demsher that Council makes the following findings re Bid Schedule No. 1471 , con- struction of Municipal Airport Taxiway, AIP Project No. 3-06-0194-01 : 1 . Project is compatible with the Redding General Plan. 2. Project will not significantly alter existing land form. 3. Project is compatible with surrounding land use. 4. Project is compatible with the Code of the City of Redding, J 1 . California. and, ratifies the Negative Declaration approved by the Board of Administra- tive Review on November 12, 1980. The Vote: Unanimous Ayes MOTION: Made by Councilman Kirkpatrick, seconded by Councilman Pugh that Bid Schedule No. 1471 , construction of Municipal Airport Taxiway AIP Project No. 3-06-0194-01 , be awarded to Redding Constructors on its low bid in the amount of $1 ,058,460.50, subject to receiving formal approval from FAA. Voting was as follows: Ayes: Council Members - Demsher, Kirkpatrick, Pugh, and Gard Noes: Council Members - None Absent: Council Members - Fulton 8/29/83 221 ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, at the hour of 12:05 P.M. , Mayor Gard declared the meeting adjourned.
