A1so present were: City Manager Barry Tippin,Assistant City Manager Sheri DeMaagd,City Attorney Barry DeWalt,Assistant City Clerk Sharlene Tipton,and Executive Assistant Luisa Klapperieh. City Manager Tippin noted that this is the first of a series of faur property�uorkshops.He stated that the October 27�' workshc�p w�ill be a discussion on planning and rnaster planning, the November 1 Qt�'workshop will be discussing land restrictions,and the November 18�"workshop will be a summarization and Cauncil detiberation. STATE OF CALIFORIVIA'S SURPLUS PRt�PERTY ACT AND COUNCII PQLICY NO 1941 3{a). Report regarding the Surplus Land Act and City of Redding Council Poliey No. 1901. City Attarney DeWalt summarized the Report to City Couneil (staff report), incorporated herein by reference. A discussion amongst the Council ensued. Bennett Gooch,President of the Rodeo Association,requested consideration of a long- � �� term lease for the Rodeo Grounds between the Radeo Association and the City of Redding. Mimi Maseley expressed appreeiatian far the Civic Audi�orium Workshaps. John Wilson urged there tfl be environmental studies prior to auy deeisions being made. The Council accepted the report from the City� Attorney regarding tl�e Caiifornia Surplus Land Aet and City Council Poliey No. 1901 as they relate to the passible disposition Qf City of Redding-awned real property iocated generally at the Redding RQdeo Grounds and Civic Auditorium(the"Riverfront Propert}�'}. The City Council took no formal aetian on this informational item. A discussion amongst the Council ensued. Aleta Bussard, Kim Rein, and Keily Bartaldo spoke in favor of developing t11e Riverfront Prapertv.
