HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 1987-072 - Authorizing the city manager to file an application for funding under the federal emergencty shelter a �. • • RESOLUTION NO. e�_�� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING � AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE AN APPLICATION FOR � FUNDING UNDER THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANTS PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $30 ,000. 00 WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT , OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. i WHEREAS, the California Department of Housing and � Community Development (HCD) has notified the City of Redding that ! $638 ,000.00 will be available to California communities on a competitive basis under the new Federal Emergency Shelter Grants Program; and WHEREAS, the City has determined that it would be in the best interests of the residents of the City of Redding to ; participate in this program; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the City should apply for $30,000 . 00 under this program to assist in j renovation and improvements for the Women' s Refuge; and WHEREAS, the City Council has studied the attached certifications required by HCD in connection herewith and has ; agreed to same; i NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of I the City of Redding hereby authorizes the City Manager to file an � application for the Federal Emergency Shelter Grants Program in � the amount of $30,000. 00 and sign the Statement of Certifications � attached hereto and incorporated herein. , (b) Its governing body has duly adopted or passed as an official act or resolution, notion, or similar action authorizing the filing of the application, including all understaiidings and assurances contained therein, and authorizing the applicant's chief executive officer or other designee to act in connection with the application and to provide such ' additional information as may be required;
