Anderson, Kehoe, McGeorge, Murray and R. Anderson. Also present were Interim City Manager McMurry, Assistant City Attorney Calkins, and Personnel Director Bristow. CLOSED SESSION (P-100-050-050) Mayor R. Anderson stated that the City Council would adjourn to closed session pursuant to California Government Code Section 54957.6(a) to discuss labor negotiations with the International Firefighters Association of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO, Firefighters Unit. At the hour of 6:45 p.m., Mayor R. Anderson adjourned the meeting to closed session. At the hour of 6:50 p.m., Mayor R. Anderson reconvened the meeting to regular session. Personnel Director Bristow explained that City negotiators have reached agreement on a proposed thirty month extension of the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International Association of Fire Fighters Local Union 1934, effective July 1, 1994, through June 30, 1997, covering wages, hours and working conditions for members of this bargaining unit. Mr. Bristow highlighted the following features of the MOU: a three percent wage adjustment to be effective January 1, 1995, a four percent wage adjustment effective July 2, 1995, and a three percent wage adjustment effective July 1, 1996; increase the uniform allocation to $500 effective July 1, 1996; increase the minimum call-back time from three to four hours; and third level of 1959 survivors benefits to be effective as soon as practicable. It is the recommendation of staff that the City Council adopt the necessary resolution approving the MOU and, thereby, providing for an agreement covering wages, hours and working conditions for employees in the Fire Fighter bargaining unit through June 30, 1997. MOTION: Made by Council Member McGeorge, seconded by Council Member Kehoe, that Resolution No. 95-001 be adopted, a resolution of the City Council of the City of Redding approving the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Redding and the International Association of Fire Fighters, Local Union 1934, effective July 1, 1994, through June 30, 1997. Voting was as follows: Ayes: Council Members - P. Anderson, Kehoe, McGeorge, Murray and R. Anderson Noes: Council Members - None Absent: Council Members - None Resolution No. 95-001 is on file in the office of the City Clerk.
