HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - unsigned - 1991-10-24 - Special1 10/24/91 City Council, Special Meeting City Hall Conference Room 760 Parkview Avenue Redding, California October 24, 1991 5:15 p.m. The meeting was called to order by Vice Mayor Moss with the following Council Members present: Buffum, Fulton, and Moss. Council Member Arness and Mayor Dahl were absent. Also present were Assistant City Manager McMurry, City Attorney Hays, Director of Finance Downing, Director of Airports Ruff, Assistant Finance Director Sundin, and Assistant City Clerk Strohmayer. CLOSED SESSION (C-070-100 & A-090-100 & L-100) Vice Mayor Moss stated that City Council will adjourn to closed session pursuant to California Government Code Section 54956.8 to discuss real property negotiations with Ronald J. Jones, Darryl J. Jones, Marcelino R. Sanchez and Nancy J. Sanchez regarding the Lease of the Pegasus Restaurant at Redding Municipal Airport. Vice Mayor Moss stated that City Council will also adjourn to Closed Session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a) to discuss the status of pending litigation in the case of Timothy R. Doe by Diane Doe, his Guardian Ad Lidem, vs. City of Redding et. al, United States District Court, Eastern District of California, Case No. CIV S-91-0193-WBS/GGS. At the hour of 5:17 p.m., Vice Mayor Moss declared the meeting adjourned to closed session. At the hour of 5:40 p.m., Vice Mayor Moss declared the meeting reconvened to regular session. RESOLUTION - Consent to Assignment of Lease at Municipal Airport Restaurant (C-070-100 & A-090-100) MOTION: Made by Council Member Buffum, seconded by Council Member Fulton, that Resolution No. 91-456 be adopted, a resolution of the City Council of the City of Redding approving the Consent to Assignment of Lease of the Redding Municipal Airport Restaurant Lease, as assumed from David J. Allen to assignees Marcelino Sanchez, Nancy Sanchez, Ronald Jones, and Darryl Jones, with Marcelino Sanchez and Ronald Jones operating the restaurant as a partnership. Voting was as follows: Ayes: Council Members - Buffum, Fulton, and Moss Noes: Council Members - None Absent: Council Members - Arness and Dahl Resolution No. 91-456 is on file in the office of the City Clerk. PENDING LITIGATION (L-100) MOTION: Made by Council Member Buffum, seconded by Council Member Fulton, to settle the case of Timothy R. Doe by Diane Doe, his Guardian Ad Lidem, v. City of Redding, et al, United States District Court, Eastern District of California, Case No. CIV S-91-0193-WBS/GGS, in the amount of $275,000.00 (Two Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars). Voting was as follows: Ayes: Council Members - Buffum, Fulton, and Moss Noes: Council Members - None Absent: Council Members - Arness and Dahl 2 10/24/91 ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, at the hour of 5:42 p.m., Vice Mayor Moss declared the meeting adjourned.
