HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - unsigned - 1990-11-13 - Adjourned Regular Meeting1 11/13/90 City Council, Adjourned Regular Meeting City Hall Conference Room Redding, California November 13, 1990 5:15 p.m. The Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Buffum with the following Council Members present: Arness, Dahl, Fulton, Moss and Buffum. Mayor Buffum advised that the purpose of the meeting is to hold a joint study session with the Recreation and Parks Commission. Commissioners present were Jim Elkins and Vi Klaseen. Also present were City Manager Christofferson, Assistant City Manager McMurry, City Attorney Hays, Director of Parks and Recreation Riley and City Clerk Nichols. A discussion ensued concerning the following topics: SOFTBALL COMPLEX AND ENTERPRISE COMMUNITY PARK (P-050-600-200 & P-050-145) Council asked the Commission to provide a list of park development projects and assign priority ranking. The possibility of building the Softball Complex in phases was discussed and Council concurred that it is advisable to take a very close look at the implications of debt service versus a pay as you go plan. TIGER FIELD (P-050-600-250) It was noted that Tiger Field is a quality field that would be costly to replace at another location. SACRAMENTO RIVER REGULATIONS (R-200-600) Mayor Buffum thanked the Commission for conducting the Public Hearings and providing the base requirements for the River Regulation Ordinance. TREE ORDINANCE (A-050-220-075) Council requested the Commission to have a joint meeting with the Planning Commission to discuss the Tree Ordinance. POLICY 13 (A-050-060-555) To avoid problems in the future, the Recreation and Parks Director was directed to develop a form letter advising all park users about the constraints imposed by Policy 13. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, at the hour of 6:33 p.m., Mayor Buffum declared the meeting adjourned to November 14, 1990 at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room at City Hall.
