CIVIC CENTER ADMINISTRATION & POLICE BUILDING
(C-050-025)
The purpose of the meeting was to present design considerations for
the Civic Center project. John Ruffo discussed a number of Master
Planning issues, goals, and objectives, and Les Melburg reviewed
possible locations for the project on the Parkview Avenue property.
There was general consensus that the location at the west end of
Parkview Avenue eliminated a lot of problems.
Some consideration was given to exterior style and materials and the
configuration of the various departments and Council Chambers. Mr.
Melburg indicated that he will prepare a presentation in greater
detail on materials. He also indicated that the economics of the
project would come later when the scope of the project was better
defined.
The decision was made to schedule another Council workshop within 60
days to continue Civic Center planning.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, at the hour of 12:30 p.m. Mayor
Carter declared the meeting adjourned to 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March
13, 1990, at 760 Parkview Avenue, to discuss the Master Water Plan
Update.
