HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - unsigned - 1989-07-25 317 7/25/89 City Council, Adjourned Regular Meeting City Hall Conference Room Redding, California July 25, 1989 5:15 p.m. Mayor Carter called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to order with the following Council Members present: Council Member Buffum, Council Member Johannessen, and Mayor Carter. Council MembersDahl and Fulton were absent. Also present were City Manager Christofferson, Assistant City Manager McMurry, City Attorney Hays, and Director of Public Works Galusha. 1989 CONCRETE OVERLAY PROGRAM - Authorization to Advertise for Bids (B-050-020 & S-070-200) Director of Public Works Galusha stated that various streets in the City's annual street maintenance program are scheduled to be paved in late August or the beginning of September. Mr. Galusha noted that it is best to pave in hot weather, and the bidding process has several time constraints. It is, therefore, recommended that Council authorize staff to start the bid process for the 1989 Concrete Overlay Program prior to Council's approval of the 1989-90 budget. MOTION: Made by Council Member Johannessen, seconded by Council Member Buffum, authorizing staff to start the bid process for the 1989 Concrete Overlay Program prior to the adoption of the 1989-90 budget. The Vote: Unanimous Ayes Council Member Dahl arrived at 5:30 p.m. CALIFORNIA EMPLOYERS' ASSOCIATION Council Member Buffum asked if there was any benefit for the City of Redding to join the California Employers' Association. Assistant City Manager McMurry stated that there are no additional benefits that the City does not already have access to. GENERAL DISCUSSION General discussion was held. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, at the hour of 5:50 p.m., Mayor Carter declared the meeting adjourned.
