The Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council was called to
order by Mayor Johannessen, with the following Council Members
present: Buffum and Carter. Council Members Dahl and Fulton
were absent.
Also present were City Manager Christofferson, Assistant City
Manager McMurry, Personnel Services Director Bristow, Personnel
Analyst Sciarra, and City Clerk Nichols.
CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION STUDY - Report by Nash &
Associates

City Council called a study session for the purpose of previewing
the progress of the Classification and Compensation Study with
Nash and Associates.
Dr. Nash reviewed the progress of the project and noted that the
classification study should be completed in 30 days. He
explained that the draft title recommendations were submitted,
the appeals process is in progress, and the class specifications
will be edited and returned to Department directors for review.
He conveyed that it has been 30 years since the last
classification study was prepared.
Dr. Nash stated that the compensation study is progressing. The
study will take into consideration the cost of living in Redding
as compared with other cities and the total employee benefits
package.
General discussion followed.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, at the hour of 6:07 p.m., Mayor
Johannessen declared the meeting adjourned.
