The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fulton with the following
Council Members present: Carter, Gard, Johannessen, and Fulton.
Council Members absent: Dahl.
RESOLUTION - Extending Parking at Downtown Parking Lots 8, 9, l0, and
l2, for a Community Ballroom Dance, Friday, June l3, l986

Recreation and Parks Director Riley advised that his department, in
cooperation with the Downtown Mall Merchants Association is sponsoring
a Community Ballroom Dance in the Centennial Plaza of the Downtown
Mall from 9 P.M. until midnight to June l3, l986. He noted that the
parking lots normally close at l0 P.M., but the event would necessi-
tate the lots remaining open until after the dance, or l2:30 A.M.
MOTION: Made by Council Member Johannessen, seconded by Council
Member Gard that Resolution No. 86-l35 be adopted, a resolution of the
City Council of the City of Redding granting a variance to the traffic
control map by extending the closing time of those portions of the
Downtown Parking Lots numbered 8, 9, l0, and l2, that normally close
at l0:00 P.M., from l0:00 P.M. on June l3, l986, to l2:30 A.M. on June
l4, l986, to facilitate a community ballroom dance in the Centennial
Plaza of the Downtown Mall, being sponsored by the Recreation and
Parks Department in cooperation with the Downtown Mall Merchants
Association.
Voting was as follows:
Ayes: Council Members - Carter, Gard, Johannessen and Fulton
Noes: Council Members - None
Absent: Council Members - Dahl
Resolution No. 86-l35 is on file in the office of the City Clerk.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, at the hour of 4:l0 P.M., Mayor
Fulton declared the meeting adjourned.
