A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING COMMENDING
JUDGE RICHARD B. EATON FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE.
WHEREAS Judge Richard B. Eaton has served this community well for
many years in numerous capacities, including 45 years of involvement
with the Boy Scouts of America;
AND WHEREAS, these years of service have been marked by exemplary
dedication to the best interests of the community as he has worked
constantly for the betterment of Boy Scouts in Redding, as well as all
of Shasta County and Trinity County;
AND WHEREAS, he has earned the admiration and high regard of those
with whom he has come into contact, and the affection of his fellow
public servants , who are proud to call him "friend" ;
AND WHEREAS, his many contributions to our city include:
* Episcopal Church:
Lay Reader from 1946 to present.
Chalice Bearer from 1968 to present.
Eucharistic Minister, 1988 .
* Shasta Historical Society Director from 1952 to
present.
* Boy Scouts of America:
Shasta-Trinity District Chairman from 1952 to
1953.
Council Executive Board from 1954 to 1977 .
Advisory Board from 1979 to present.
* Royal Arch Mission Chaplain from 1957 to present.
* Redding Museum and Art Center Board of Directors from
1963 to present.
* Order of De Moley Advisor from 1964 to present.
* Lecturer:
Shasta College from 1968 to present.
Whiskeytown Environmental School from 1971 to
present.
* Master:
Western Star Lodge No. 2 F.G.A.M. from 1979 to
present.

* Jurisprudence Committee, Grand Lodge, Masonic, 1979
to present.
* Shasta Interpretive Association Director from 1983
to present.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City
of Redding, on behalf of all its citizens, hereby expresses sincere
appreciation and thanks to Judge Richard B. Eaton for his distinguished
service to the community, and highly commends him for the manner in
which he has carried out his activities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council extends Judge Eaton
best wishes as he is honored at the "Good Scout" Reception hosted by
the Shasta-Trinity District Boy Scouts of America.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced and
read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on
the 4th day of October, 1988, and was duly adopted at said meeting by
the following vote:
