HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 1988-227 - Resolution of the city council of the city of redding relating to violence 010 RESOLUTION NO. - 227 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING RELATING TO VIOLENCE WHEREAS, violence of any kind is to be deplored, and the Redding City Council wishes to reaffirm that principal; and WHEREAS, Redding has been notably free from the kind of racial violence that has plagued other communities; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to reassure anyone who may see an individual incident in a broader context of violence; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Redding condemns violence of all kinds and urges that any incident that could be interpreted as racially motivated be met with the same type of response that the City has utilized in the recent past. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro- duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 21st day of June , 1988 , and was dully adopted at said meeting by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Buffum, Carter, Dahl , Fulton, & Johannessen NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None / y MPRICE- JOHANNESSEN, Mayor City of Redding ATTEST: FORM APPROVED: .17.‘cie#4 ETHEL NICHOLS, City Clerk Rfl4DALL A.
