A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION, ESTABLISHING A BALLOT MEASURE,
AND SETTING GUIDELINES FOR ARGUMENTS AND REBUTTALS TO THE
BALLOT MEASURE.
BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding,
State of California, does hereby set and call for a special
election on September 13 , 1988 . The election is called to
consider a ballot measure. The ballot measure is as follows:
Shall the City Council for the City of Redding adopt an
ordinance providing for a telephone, gas, water,
electricity, and television cable users tax at a rate not to
exceed three percent (3%) , with the proceeds of said tax to
be dedicated exclusively to library services for the City of
Redding?
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that parties wishing to submit
arguments in favor of or opposed to the ballot measure shall
submit them to the City Clerk by 5 :00 p.m. , June 14 , 1988 ; with
rebuttals to arguments submitted to be filed with the City Clerk
by 5 : 00 p.m. , June 24 , 1988 .
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 7th day of June • 1988 , and was duly
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Buffum, Carter , Dahl , Fulton , & Johannessen
NOES : COUNCIL MEMBERS : None
ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS : None
ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS : None
