A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
APPROVING A UTILITY PAY STATION OPERATOR AGREEMENT FOR
SHASTA PHARMACY, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN
SAME.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as
follows :
1 . That the City Council of the City of Redding hereby
approves the attached Utility Pay Station Operator Agreement
between the City of Redding and Shasta Pharmacy, which authorizes
Shasta Pharmacy to act on the City' s behalf in accepting payments
from City' s utility customers; and
2 . That the City Manager of the City of Redding is hereby
authorized and directed to sign all necessary documents on behalf
of the City of Redding, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized
and directed to attest the signature of the City Manager and to
impress the official seal of the City of Redding on the aforesaid
Agreement, when appropriate.
3 . That a true copy of said Agreement is attached hereto
and incorporated herein by reference.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 7th day of June , 1988 , and was
duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

UTILITY PAY STATION OPERATOR AGREEMENT
FOR SHASTA PHARMACY
THIS AGREEMENT, by and between the CITY OF REDDING, a
municipal corporation and general law city, hereinafter referred
to as "City, " and SHASTA PHARMACY, hereinafter referred to as
"Operator, " authorizes Operator to act on behalf of City in the
acceptance of payments from City' s customers and performance of
other duties of a commercial nature as hereinafter provided.
In consideration of the faithful performance by Operator of
the obligations imposed on it hereunder, City agrees to pay
Operator as follows:
Fifteen cents (l5 ) per bill collected.
In consideration of the foregoing compensation, Operator
agrees to perform the following duties in accordance with City's
standard practices and regulations as from time to time conveyed
to it by an authorized City representative:
Operator agrees that, acting as City' s collection and
commercial representative in Redding at 4484 South Market Street,
it will, during all hours that its place of business is open to
the public, receive from City' s customers payments tendered in
settlement of City' s charges as billed; render them a properly
receipted bill which is to be receipted in the name of City with
receipt stamp furnished to Operator by City for such payments;

list all payments so received on such forms as are adopted
hereafter for this purpose and supplied by City; and at the close
of each day forward both listing and bill stubs to City in a
self-addressed envelope provided for such purpose. City will
supply or pay Operator for necessary postage. Remittance for the
full amount collected shall be enclosed with the daily
transmittal of collection list and bill stubs, or at short
intervals during the month as arranged for by City' s
representative. City will not accept from Operator a customer' s
check or other money order for more than the amount of bill or
bills paid. Operator ' s payment to City shall consist of
customers ' checks or other money orders made payable to City and
Operator' s own check, bank cashier' s check, or money order made
payable to City in an amount equal to the difference between the
total of all bills collected and the total customers ' checks or
other money orders.
Operator agrees to adequately safeguard all funds collected
for City and assume liability for such funds in the event of loss
due to fraudulent or dishonest acts or negligence on the part of
Operator and/or its employees.
This Agreement shall become effective on July 1 , 1988 , and
shall remain in effect until either party shall signify a desire
to terminate it, notice of such intended termination to be given
in writing to the other party not less than thirty (30) days
prior to the proposed date of termination.
This Agreement is not assignable.
It has been determined that this matter is not subject to

the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act.
