A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING '
ORDERING THE VACATION AND ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF
UNDEVELOPED STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1009 SHASTA STREET (A-2-88) .
WHEREAS, proceedings have been duly conducted and held in
accordance with the provisions of the Public Streets , Highways
and Service Easements Vacation Law, Streets and Highways Code
§ 8300 , et seq. ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redding finds and
determines that, subject to the conditions contained in paragraph
2 hereof, the hereinafter described real property is not
necessary for present or prospective street right-of-way
purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Redding
hereby resolves and orders as follows:
1 . That the City Council makes the following findings in
connection herewith:
(a) The project is compatible with the Redding General
Plan;
(b) The project will not significantly alter the
existing land form;
(c) The project is compatible with the surrounding
land use; and
(d) The project is compatible with the Redding
Municipal Code.
2 . That that certain real property in the City of Redding,
County of Shasta, State of California, being a portion of
undeveloped street right-of-way located adjacent to 1009 Shasta
Street, as the same is more particularly described in Exhibit "A"
and as illustrated in the map attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference, be and the same is hereby vacated and

abandoned as a street right-of-way, subject to the following
conditions:
a) The City shall retain any and all easements for sewer,
water, electric, telephone, gas, and cable utilities;
and
b) Reservation of a corner rounding per the requirements
of the Public Works Department.
3 . That the City Clerk of the City of Redding be and
hereby is directed to record a certified copy of this Resolution,
attested to by the City Clerk under the seal of the City of
Redding, in the office of the Shasta County Recorder.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 3rd day of May , 1988 , and was
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Buffum, Carter, Dahl , Fulton & Johannessen
NOES : COUNCIL MEMBERS : None
ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None

Beginning at the most northerly corner of Parcel 1 , as shown in
Book 23 of Parcel Maps at page 5 , Shasta County Records; thence
running the following bearings and distances; S. 72°20 ' 11" W. ,
90 .00 feet; thence N. 17°39 ' 49" W. , 10 . 00 feet; thence
N. 72°20 ' 11" E. , 80 .00 feet; thence on a 10 .00 foot radius curve
to the right, through a central angle of 90°00 ' 00" a distance of
15 .71 feet, to the point of beginning, containing 878 .54 square
feet.
