A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
PERTAINING TO THE REDDING RODEO ASSOCIATION' S AND ASPHALT
COWBOYS ' 40TH ANNUAL RODEO WEEK CELEBRATIONS , TO BE HELD
MAY 14 THROUGH MAY 21 , 1988 .
WHEREAS, the 40th annual Rodeo Parade and Rodeo Week
activities of the Redding Rodeo Association and the Asphalt
Cowboys will be held during the week of May 14 through May 21 ,
1988 ; and
WHEREAS , certain requests have been made of the City Council
in connection with parking and the use of certain streets during
said Rodeo Week; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of
Redding to encourage the growth and success of said Rodeo Week;
and
WHEREAS , it has been determined that this matter is not
subject to the provisions of CEQA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redding as follows:
1 . That all of the foregoing recitals are true and
correct.
2 . That it is deemed to be in the best interests of the
City of Redding to grant the requests of the Redding Rodeo
Association and the Asphalt Cowboys, and to that end the Chief of

Police , in cooperation with the Director of Public Works, is
directed to accomplish the following:
(a) Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on Market Street
between Placer and South Streets and one-half block
east of Market Street on Sacramento Street and one-half
block west of Market Street on Sacramento Street from
5 : 00 a.m. Thursday, May 19 , 1988 , to 2 : 00 p.m. Friday,
May 20 , 1988 , for Roaring Gulch activities.
(b) Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on both sides of
Center Street and California Street from Riverside
Drive to Shasta Street, and on both sides of Shasta
Street from Oregon Street to Market Street between the
hours of 7 : 00 a.m. and 12 :00 noon on Saturday, May 21 ,
1988 , for the Rodeo Parade.
(c) Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on the Parade
Line-of-March between the hours of 8 : 00 a.m. and 12 : 00
noon on Saturday, May 21 , 1988 , said Line-of-March to
originate on California Street and Center Street, to
proceed south on California Street to Sacramento
Street, then east on Sacramento Street to Pine Street,
then north on Pine Street to Tehama Street.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution pertaining to
the 40th Annual Rodeo Week Celebrations was introduced and read
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding

on the 19th day of April , 1988 , and was duly adopted at said
meeting by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Buffum , Carter, Dahl , Fulton , & Johannessen
NOES : COUNCIL MEMBERS : None
