A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING OF
INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT UNDER
CHAPTER 9 . 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING LOCATED AT 4531 HILLMONTE
DRIVE (OWNED BY FAITH A. SCOTT aka FAITH D. SCOTT) .
WHEREAS , the provisions of Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures located
within the City of Redding which are structurally unsafe or are
dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay or other causes which
constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life or a
likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a
nuisance by the City Council of the City of Redding and there-
after abated as provided therein; and
WHEREAS , the Building Official of the City of Redding has
made an inspection of the building located on real property as
hereinafter described and has declared it to be unsafe and/or a
hazard to safety, health and public welfare; and
WHEREAS , it has been determined that this matter is categor-
ically exempt from the provisions of. CEQA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redding that it is the intention of this City Council to
begin legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9 . 36 of the
Redding Municipal Code on the property described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and made a part hereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that saidbuilding mentioned herein-
above is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by

Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding Municipal Code and is hereby ordered
to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the Board
of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all
proceedings provided in Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding Municipal
Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Redding be and hereby is authorized and directed to forward a
certified copy of this Resolution to the Shasta County Recorder
for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 2nd day of February , 1988 , and
was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

DESCRIPTION
The real property referred to herein is situate in the
County of Shasta, State of California, described as follows:
All that portion of the Northwest one-quarter of the Southwest one-quarter
of Section 17, Township 31 North, Range 4 West, M.D.B.&M. , according
to the official plat thereof, lying Easterly of Old Churn Creek
i Road, County Road #73-D, and South of the South line of the parcel
described in the deed to Roy G. Hanes, et ux. , recorded in the office
of the County Recorder May 16, 1957 in Book 531 of Official Records
at page 509, Shasta County Records.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM all that portion lying Souftwesterly of the Northeasterly
line of Parcel 2, as described in the deed to the State of California,
recorded in the office of the County Recorder November 10, 1961
in Book. 686 of Official Records at page 424, Shasta County Records.
