HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 1989-249 - Certifying noise exposure maps and description of consultation i ., 4 RESOLUTION NO. 8 .;y9 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING CERTIFYING NOISE EXPOSURE MAPS AND DESCRIPTION OF CONSULTATION AND OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC COMMENT AND ADOPTING A PART 150 STUDY (NOISE MANAGEMENT PLAN) FOR REDDING MUNICIPAL AIRPORT. WHEREAS, the City of Redding is the operator of the Redding Municipal Airport, a public airport serving communities in the County of Shasta; and ' I WHEREAS, noise and annoyance from aircraft operations at the Redding Municipal Airport are of continuing concern to the City of Redding; and WHEREAS, the City of Redding has caused to be prepared Noise Exposure Maps and a Description of Consultation and Opportunity for Public Comment, copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and WHEREAS, the City of Redding desires that these Noise Exposure Maps and Description of Consultation and Opportunity for Public Comment be submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration for its approval as a step in the process of developing an approved Airport Noise Compatibility Program for the Redding Municipal Airport; and WHEREAS, the City of Redding has caused to be prepared a Noise Management Plan in accordance with the requirements set forth in Federal Aviation Regulations Part 150 (17 CFR Section 150 et seq. ) that proposes a variety of measures to minimize off-airport noise impacts of Redding Municipal Airport, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding hereby certifies as follows: 1. That the foregoing recitals are true and correct; 2. That adequate opportunity to submit views, data, and comments concerning the correctness and adequacy of the draft Noise Exposure Maps and the Forecast of Aircraft Operations has been afforded to interested persons as is more fully described in the Description of Consultation and Opportunity for Public Comment (Appendix E of the Part 150 Study); 3. That under penalty of 18 USC 1001, the City Council is informed and believes that the Noise Exposure Maps and Description of Consultation and Opportunity for Public Comment are true and complete; 4. That the Noise Exposure Maps and Description of Consultation and Opportunity for Public Comment have been developed and prepared in accordance with the standards and procedures set forth in Federal Aviation Regulations Part 150 (14 CFR Section 150 et seq. ) ; and 5.
