II iA RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING L APPROVING THE LETTER AGREEMENT DATED MARCH 7 , 1989 , BETWEEN 1 THE CITY OF REDDING AND THE COUNTY OF SHASTA COVERING THE HILLTOP DRIVE PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE i NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION. N BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as follows : i! iI 1 . That the City Council hereby approves the Letter Agreement dated March 7 , 1989 , between the City of Redding and the County of Shasta covering the relocation of City water and ' sewer utilities resulting from Shasta County' s relocation and realignment of Hilltop Drive at Lake Boulevard, as well as the signalization of the Lake Boulevard/Hilltop Drive intersection. A true copy of said letter agreement is attached hereto and i incorporated herein by reference. i' i; 2 . That the Mayor of the City of Redding is hereby I , i authorized and directed to sign the necessary contractual items, s I including said Letter Agreement, on behalf of the City of Redding; and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to attest the signature of the Mayor and to impress the official seal of the City of Redding on the necessary documentation, when appropriate. Robert Galusha Public Works Director H1 City of Redding II , ill 760 Parkview Avenue ' I Redding, CA 96001 , Subject: Hilltop Drive Project Dear Bob: The intent of this letter is to constitute an agreement between the City of Redding and the County of Shasta when II it is signed by both parties . H The County is realigning Hilltop Drive and will require the relocation of part of the City' s utilities, and the City has asked that there be a betterment of their utilities . Therefore, it is agreed that the County will I pay for its share of the sewer and water line relocation ii; as shown on Exhibit "A, " and the City will pay for its 1;, share of the relocation also as shown on Exhibit "A. " The County shall administer the construction contract and the City shall inspect the installation of the utilities • at the time they are installed. The City will reimburse the County for the actual cost of the work done based upon the completed project costs in the County' s con- tract . The payment shall be made to the County within 60 days of the County ' s billing the City. H I,1' The City has asked that approximately 540 feet of Hilltop IS Drive beyond the scope of this project and within the 1 it City be overlaid. The County agrees to include this within its project, estimated at 220 tons, and the City 1 agrees to pay for the work based on the actual bid price per ton. The estimated cost is $9 ,000. '. i The County desires for the City to include the signal system for the intersection of Hilltop Drive and Lake � Blvd . within their upcoming signal contract .
