O 9 90 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING PROCLAIMING MARCH 27 THROUGH APRIL 2 , 1989 , AS SHASTA DIXIELAND JAZZ FESTIVAL WEEK. WHEREAS , the fourth annual Shasta Dixieland Jazz Festival will be held in Redding on March 31 and April 1 and 2 , 1989 ; and WHEREAS, the Shasta Dixieland Jazz Festival has been rated ' I among the best in the western United States, and it is estimated that 15 ,000 jazz enthusiasts will be attending this year' s event; t and WHEREAS , 18 Dixieland Bands, including 12 bands traveling from six states and from British Columbia, will be playing at various locations in the City; and WHEREAS , among the many special events to be held, the Asphalt Cowboys will be conducting a special City-wide Pancake Breakfast in Lake Redding Park on Saturday morning, April 1 , at which three Jazz Bands will play; and WHEREAS , the Jazz Festival Committee, comprised of many volunteers throughout the City, spends countless hours planning and organizing this highly successful event; and WHEREAS, the greater Redding area has shown overwhelming support for this annual Festival; and *".0 CJ Ili • 411 WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Redding wishes to formally recognize and support the Shasta Dixieland Jazz Festival; I NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED by the City Council of the City of Redding that March 27 through April 2 , 1989 , is hereby declared Shasta Dixieland Jazz Festival Week.
