A RESOLUTIOrd OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FtEDDING
MODIFYING THE JOB DEFINITION FOR PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHERS
IN THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF
' REDDING AND THE REDDING PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHERS
� ASSOCIATION.

� WHEREAS , due to the high turnover rate of Public Safetv
Dispatchers , the City and representatives of the Redding Public
� Safety Dispatchers Association have reachec7 a tentative agreement
i to modify the job definition for Public Safety Dispatchers by
� reducing the typing requirement from 45 ta 30 words per minute;
I
� and
i
� WHEREAS, staff believes that lowering the t�ping requirement
� will provide a larger applicant pool , and still provide a
' reasonable level of typing proficiency;

� NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED b�� the City Counc�l of
�'
l the City of Redding that the job definition for Public Safety
' Dispatc:hers in the Memor_andum of Understanding between the Cit_y
�,,
, of Redding and the Redding Public Safety Dispatchers .Association
be modified by providing a typing requirement of 30 words per
Iminute, rather than 45 words per minute.
