A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF THE VICTOR/MISTLETOE AND
VICTOR/HARTNELL SIGNALIZATION PROJECTS TO THE STATE-LOCAL
TRANSPORTATION PARTNERSHP PROGRAM FOR CONSIDERATION OF GRANT
FUNDS .
WHEREAS, pursuant to Senate Bill 140 , the Legislature and
Governor of the State of California have approved a Program known
as the State-Local Transportation Partnership Program, with the
intent being to appropriate up to $300 million for eligible
transportation projects in the 1990-91 budget; and
WHEREAS , eligible projects would include a local road, a
state highway, an exclusive public mass transit guideway improve-
ment that increases capacity or extends service to new areas, or
local road rehabilitation which extends the useful life of the
roadway; and
WHEREAS, there is no limit on the cost of an individual
project; the total cost of submitted projects; or the number of
projects that can be submitted; and
WHEREAS, the State share of a project' s cost will not exceed
the Local share (50/50) , and will be less if more than $600
million in projects are submitted; and
WHEREAS , staff has received a letter from Caltrans, District
2 , inquiring if the City has projects it may desire to place in
the candidate project list; and

WHEREAS , a review of the 1990-91 budget indicates two
projects which staff believes qualify for funding considerations,
namely (1) signalization of the Victor/Mistletoe intersection in
the amount of $120 , 000 ; and (2) signalization of the
Victor/Hartnell intersection in the amount of $144 ,000 ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Redding hereby authorizes staff to submit the two
signalization projects to the State-Local Transportation
Partnership Program for consideration of grant funds .
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 7th day of Aug., 1990 , and was duly
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
