A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE. CITY OF REDDING F
INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT UNDER
CHAPTER 9 . 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING LOCATED AT 2335 SHASTA
STREET, OWNED BY RICHARD D. CHESTER AND NAIDA CHESTER.
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures located
within the City of Redding which are structurally unsafe or are
dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay or other causes which
constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life or a
likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a
nuisance by the City Council of the City of Redding and there-
after abated as provided therein; and
WHEREAS, the Building Official of the City of Redding has
made an inspection of the building (s) located on real property as
hereinafter described and has declared them to be unsafe and/or a
hazard to safety, health, and public welfare; and
WHEREAS , it has been determined that this matter is categor-
ically exempt from the provisions of CEQA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redding that it is the intention of this City Council to
begin legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9. 36 of the
Redding Municipal Code on the property described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and made a part hereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building (s) mentioned

hereinabove are hereby declared to be a public nuisance as
provided by Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding Municipal Code and are
hereby ordered to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition
or removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the Board
of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all
"lil proceedings provided in Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding Municipal
Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Redding be and hereby is authorized and directed to forward a
certified copy of this Resolution to the Shasta County Recorder
for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 17th day of July , 1990 , and
was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

IThat real property situate in the County of Shasta, City of
I' Redding, State of California, and is described as follows:
A portion of Lot 3 , Block T Deakins Subdivision, as shown on the
tl map entitled "Deakin' s Subdivision of Blocks I.M.N.L.G.H.X.P. and
T. in the Dakyn Addition to Redding" filed March 28 , 1990 in the
office of the County Recorder of Shasta County in Volume Old
Plats at Page 34 , particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the point on the South line of Bush (now Shasta)
Street distant thereon 50 feet Easterly from the East line of
Olive Ave. as shown on said map; thence, Easterly along said line
of Shasta St. 128 feet; thence, Southerly parallel with said line
II of Olive Ave. 118 feet 8 inches; thence, Westerly parallel with
said line of Shasta Street 128 feet; thence, Northerly parallel
with said line of Olive Ave. 118 feet 8 inches to the point of
beginning.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the Westerly 40 feet thereof. Said Westerly
40 feet to be measured parallel with the Easterly line of Olive
Street.
