A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ABANDON A PORTION OF STREET
RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED AT 3131 VEDA STREET (A-8-89) .
WHEREAS , certain real property, namely a public street
right-of-way located at 3131 Veda Street, and described in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference,
has been heretofore dedicated to the City of Redding, as the same
is set forth on a map and/or plan on file in the office of the
City Clerk of the City of Redding, which right-of-way is more
particularly shown on the map attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference; and
WHEREAS , it is believed by and it appears to the City
Council of the City of Redding that, subject to the conditions
hereinafter set forth, that portion of street right-of-way
located at 3131 Veda Street, as shown on the attached map, is not
necessary; and
WHEREAS , the Director of Public Works of the City of Redding
has duly investigated the proposed abandonment of said portion of
street right-of-way, and, subject to the conditions hereinafter
set forth, has advised the City Council that there is no
indication that it will be required in the future; and
WHEREAS , the Planning Commission of the City of Redding has
held a public hearing regarding the abandonment of said portion
of street right-of-way, and at the conclusion of said hearing has
recommended that, subject to the conditions hereinafter set
forth, said portion of street right-of-way, as shown on the
attached map, be abandoned; and
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Redding elects to
proceed in this matter under the provisions of the Public
Streets, Highways , and Service Easements Vacation Law as the same
