Re: Authorization for Work on Hydroelectric Projects
Dear Rick:
We understand that Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue ("Jones Day")
has nearly exhausted the amounts currently authorized for
expenditure on hydroelectric permitting and licensing matters
for the City of Redding. Accordingly, I am sending you this
letter to propose that our authorization be renewed.
The newly authorized amount would be used to continue our
'! work on Redding ' s hydroelectric projects that are going through
the licensing and permitting process at the Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission ("FERC) . These include the Spring Creek
Project, the Lake Redding Project, and the Red Bluff Project.
We anticipate that the Spring Creek Project may require most of
our time.
We propose to provide service in the future on the same
basis as we have in the past. Accordingly, no work would be
undertaken except upon explicit direction from yourself or
other qualified persons at the City of Redding. We will
maintain close contact throughout any proceedings with you so
that, at every step, you will be fully informed and will have a
full opportunity to review and approve any action that we may
take on behalf of the City of Redding.
As in the past, our statements for services rendered will
be submitted to you on a monthly basis. There will be a full
itemization and description of all tasks performed for the
City, and there will be a full itemization of out-of-pocket
costs.
As you know, it has been a pleasure and a source of
i ! professional satisfaction to have been able to provide legal
services to the City of Redding. I very much look forward to
II the opportunity of being able to serve you in the future.
iii,
