A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
EXPRESSING ITS SUPPORT FOR NORTHSTATE PUBLIC RADIO STATION
KCHO.
WHEREAS, Northstate Public Radio, KCHO, has served the
Redding community since 1980 by broadcasting quality public radio
programming from a translator located atop Shasta-Bally; and
WHEREAS , KCHO has enhanced the quality of life in the
Redding area by regularly featuring news and information about
Redding' s cultural activities; and
WHEREAS , KCHO has a loyal following of Redding listeners who
support the station through yearly financial contributions; and
WHEREAS , a group of Redding citizens, THE REDDING FRIENDS OF
PUBLIC RADIO, has, through diligent efforts, raised the funds
necessary to construct a full-power station capable of sending a
strong and reliable signal throughout the Redding area; and
WHEREAS, this new station will provide for the needs and
interests of the Redding community by employing local, regional,
and national news coverage; local music and information
programming; and special live or tape-delayed programming in
stereo;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Redding City Council, in appreciation of
KCHO' s contribution to the North state , declares its support of

KCHO' s effort to further this Northern California regional
broadcast service.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 6th day of February, 1990 , and was
duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
