HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1990-066 - Reject all bids from one ton truck with aerial broom and serice body 411 RESOLUTION NO. e.7. 44, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR ONE (1) ONE TON TRUCK WITH AERIAL BOOM AND SERVICE BODY; DECLARING THAT SUCH TRUCK MAY BE ACQUIRED IN THE OPEN MARKET; AND AUTHORIZING THE NEGOTIATION THEREOF BY THE CITY MANAGER. WHEREAS , City Council called for bids for furnishing one (1) one ton truck with aerial boom and service body in Bid Schedule No. 2275 ; bid opening held December 28 , 1989 ; and WHEREAS , only one bid was received and it did not meet all of the specifications; and WHEREAS , the City Manager has advised the City Council that, in his opinion, he can obtain the required one ton truck with aerial boom and service body for a price which is favorable to the City of Redding by negotiating in the open market; and WHEREAS , the City Council has carefully studied the afore- said matter and has determined that the recommendation of the City Manager would be in the best interests of the City; and WHEREAS , it has been determined that this matter is categorically exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as follows : 1 . That the foregoing recitals are true and correct. 2 . That all bids for the furnishing of one (1) one ton truck with aerial boom and service body submitted on or before December 28 , 1989 , under Bid Schedule No. 2275 are hereby rejected. 3 . That it is the opinion of this City Council that said truck can be purchased in the open market, and that through negotiations it can be acquired in the open market for a price which is favorable to the City of Redding. 411 4 . That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to enter into negotiations with one or more manufacturers or suppliers of said truck, and to purchase same at a price favorable to the City of Redding. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro- duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 6th day of February, 1990 , and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following 4/5ths vote of Council: AYES : COUNCIL MEMBERS : Buffum, Dahl , Ful ton, Johannessen, & Carter NOES : COUNCIL MEMBERS : None ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS : None ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS : None ,)6/c71-r-Z- 461-C SCOTT CARTER, Mayor City of Redding ATTEST: ETHEL A.
