HomeMy WebLinkAbout2034 - Amending Sections 7.12.060 and 7.12.090 O ORDINANCE NO. 2034 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING AMENDING SECTIONS 7.12.060 AND 7.12.090 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO DOG LICENSES. The City Council of the City of Redding does hereby ordain as follows: Section 1. Section 7 .12.060 of the Redding Municipal Code is hereby repealed, and the following added: 7.12.060 License—Administrative Fees and Due Date. A. License fees are due and payable on a fiscal-year basis (July 1 - June 30) , and are billed by the City Clerk in advance on May 1. B. Prior to July 1, 1993, any person owning or having custody or control of one or more dogs shall pay an administrative fee for the licensing of each dog over the age of four months as follows: Unaltered $10.00 Spayed or neutered 5.00 Senior Citizens ( 60+) 1/2 price Partial year after February 28 1/2 price. C. Effective July 1, 1993, any person owning or having custody or control of one or more dogs shall pay an administrative fee for the licensing of each dog over the age of four months in accordance with the fee schedule established from time-to-time by Resolution of the City Council. D. Effective July 1, 1993, licenses may be purchased either (a) for one year; or (b) for two years, if the rabies vaccination expires during said two- year period; or (c) for three years, if the rabies vaccination expires during said three-year period, as follows: 1. A one-year license shall be due and payable to the City on the first day of July each year, and shall be delinquent on the first day of September each year; 410 410 2. A two-year license shall be due and payable to the City on the first day of July every second year, and shall be delinquent on the first day of September in the second year; 3. A three-year license shall be due and payable to the City on the first day of July every third year, and shall be delinquent on the first day of September in the third year; provided, however, that new residents of the City owning or having custody or control of any dog required to be licensed shall have 30 days after taking up residence in which to obtain the license. Section 2. Section 7 . 12. 090 of the Redding Municipal Code is hereby repealed, and the following added: 7.12.090 License--Duplicate. In the event the dog tags issued as part of the license required by Section 7.12.060 are lost, the person to whom the license was issued shall make application for the issuance of a duplicate license and the replacement of the tags. A fee shall accompany the application for issuance of a duplicate license, as follows: 1. Prior to July 1, 1993, a fee of $1.00. 2. Effective July 1, 1993, the fee shall be as established, from time-to-time, by Resolution of the City Council. Section 3 . It has been determined that this matter is categorically exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act. Section 4 . The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and cause its publication according to law.
