AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AMENDING PORTIONS OF CHAPTER 11.08 OF THE REDDING
MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO TRAFFIC-CONTROL DEVICES.
The City Council of the City of Redding does hereby ordain
as follows:
Section 1. Subsections A. and F. of Section 11. 08. 010 of
the Redding Municipal Code are hereby repealed in their entirety,
and the following Subsections A. , F. , and G. are added:
11.08.010 Installation and Maintenance.
A. The City Engineer or his duly authorized
representative has the exclusive power and duty to
place and maintain or cause to be placed and
maintained official traffic-control devices when
and as required under the provisions of this
chapter and other traffic ordinances of the City
to make effective such provisions.
F. Whenever, pursuant to this chapter, the City
Engineer or his duly authorized representative
shall order or authorize traffic-control
regulations or devices which require posting to be
legally enforceable, it shall be the duty of the
Public Works Department to erect and maintain the
necessary signs and devices to advise the public
of the existence of such regulations.
G. Decisions of the City Engineer or his duly
authorized representative with regard to traffic-
control devices may be appealed to the Board of
Administrative Review (BAR) upon receipt of a U
written appeal to the City Engineer within 10 days
of notification of the decision. Decisions of BAR

may be appealed to the City Council upon receipt of a
written appeal to the City Clerk within 10 days of
notification of the appeal decision.
Section 2. It has been determined that this matter is
categorically exempt from the provisions of the California
Environmental Quality Act.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and cause its publication according to law.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced
and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Redding on the 5th day of May , 1992 , and was duly read and
adopted on the 19th day of May , 1992 , at a regular meeting of
the City Council by the following vote:
