A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
RESTRICTING PARKING TO A TWO-HOUR PERIOD ON CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF MARKET, BUTTE AND YUBA STREETS
WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code section 22507 provides that a local government may, by
ordinance or resolution, restrict the stopping, parking, or standing of vehicles on certain streets or
highways, or portions thereof, during all or certain hours of the day; and
WHEREAS, Redding Municipal Code 11.24.180 provides that it is unlawful for any person to
allow any vehicle under his control or in his custody to remain, stand, or park for longer than two
hours between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on any day except holidays and Sundays on the
streets and portions of streets which are established as being limited to two-hour parking during
such hours of each day as shown on the traffic-control map established pursuant to the provisions
of Section 11.04.020 and on file in the office of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the areas designated herein are unsuitable and/or
dangerous for parking;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THAT:
1. The recitals set forth herein are true and correct.
2. Pursuant to Redding Municipal Code 11.24.180, the City Council declares it unlawful for
any person to allow any vehicle under his control or in his custody to remain, stand, or park
for longer than two hours between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on any day except
holidays and Sundays at the following locations:
A. Market Street: on both sides from the intersection of Market Street and Tehama
Street to the intersection of Market Street and Yuba Street.
B. Butte Street: on both sides from the intersection of Butte Street and Market Street to
the intersection of Butte Street and Pine Street.
C. Yuba Street: on the north side from the intersection of Yuba Street and Market
Street to the intersection of Yuba Street and Pine Street.
3. The Director of Public Works shall amend the Traffic Control Map adopted pursuant to
Redding Municipal Code 11.04.020 to account for the change in parking established
herein. 7b

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Redding City Council on the 16th day of March, 2021, by the following vote:
