A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING OF
INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT UNDER
CHAPTER 9.36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING LOCATED AT 5406 E. BONNYVIEW
ROAD, OWNED BY HARRELL DAVIS AND LOUISE M. DAVIS, AS TO AN
UNDIVIDED ONE-HALF INTEREST; ROGER H. COWLING AND ADRIENNE F.
COWLING, AS TO AN UNDIVIDED ONE-FOURTH INTEREST; AND DAVID A.
SHOFFNER AND KATHLEEN S. SHOFFNER, AS TO AN UNDIVIDED ONE-
FOURTH INTEREST.
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures located
within the City of Redding which are structurally unsafe or are
dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay or other causes which
constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life or a likely
resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a nuisance
by the City Council of the City of Redding and thereafter abated as
provided therein; and
WHEREAS, the Building Official of the City of Redding has made
an inspection of the building located on real property as herein-
after described and has declared it to be unsafe and/or a hazard to
safety, health and public welfare; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is categor-
ically exempt from the provisions of CEQA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Redding that it is the intention of this City Council to begin
legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code on the property described in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and made a part hereof.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned herein-
above is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by
Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code and is hereby ordered to
be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the Board of
Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all
proceedings provided in Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Redding be and hereby is authorized and directed to forward a
certified copy of this resolution to the Shasta County Recorder for
recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced
and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Redding on the 19th day of November , 1991, and was duly
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

Redding, State of California, and is described as follows:
PARCEL 1•
BEGINNING at the Southeast corner of Lot 16 of Bonny View
Subdivision as per map or plat entitled "Map of Bonny View, part of
Rancho Buena Ventura or Reading Grant, Shasta County, California" ,
filed October 31, 1887 in Book Old Plats at page 27 thereof;
thence, South 7°45' East 304 . 3 feet; thence, North 56°21130" West
235 . 9 feet to centerline of the Churn Creek Lateral and point of
beginning; thence, South 24 °25' West 457 . 9 feet; thence, South
6°43 ' East 379 . 5 feet; thence, South 72 °30' West 212 . 6 feet to a _
point on the line between Lots 30 and 31; thence, North 7 °45' West
1277 . 5 feet on the line common to Lots 30, 31, 15 and 16 of said
subdivision to a point on the center line of the Churn Creek
Lateral ; thence, Southeast 657 . 5 feet along the centerline of said
Lateral to the point of beginning. Said enclosure being a portion
of Lots 16 and 30, save and except a Right of Way 40 feet wide
along the Churn Creek Lateral for a roadway for the benefit of this

thence, South 72 ° 30' West 212 . 6 feet to a point on the line between
Lots 30 and 31 for the point of beginning; thence, South 72 °30'
West 115 . 7 feet; thence, North 7 °45' West 1414 . 0 feet to a point on
the centerline of the Churn Creek Lateral ; thence, Southeast along
the centerline of said Lateral 163 . 2 feet to a point on the line
between Lots 15 and 16, which point bears North 7 °45' West 1277 . 5
feet from the point of beginning; thence, South 7 °45' East 1277 . 5

Parcel Maps at page 87 , Shasta County Records.

1436 O.R. 356" on Parcel Map 34-80, filed October 29 , 1981 in Book
22 of Parcel Maps at page 70, which lies within the boundaries of
