A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR TWO USED VEHICLES (BID SCHEDULE
2557) ; DECLARING THAT THE REQUIRED VEHICLES MAY BE
ACQUIRED IN THE OPEN MARKET; AND AUTHORIZING THE
NEGOTIATION THEREOF AND EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT OR
CONTRACTS BY THE CITY MANAGER.
WHEREAS, the City Council called for bids for two used
vehicles for the Electric Department in Bid Schedule No. 2557 ;
and
WHEREAS, the bid opening was held October 24, 1991; and
WHEREAS, two bids were received, which did not meet the
requirements of the Specifications ; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has advised City Council that, in
his opinion, he can obtain two used vehicles at a price favorable
to the City of Redding, and not exceeding available budgeted
funds, by negotiating in the open market; and
WHEREAS, City Council has carefully studied the aforesaid
matter and has determined that the recommendation of the City
Manager is in the best interests of the City; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is categor-
ically exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental
Quality Act;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redding as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are true and correct.
2. That the two bids received under Bid Schedule No. 2557
are hereby rejected.
3 . That it is the opinion of this City Council that

through negotiations two used vehicles that meet the City' s

specifications can be acquired in the open market at a price
favorable to the City of Redding.
4 . That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to enter into negotiations for and execute the necessary
contract( s) for said vehicles.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 5th day of November, 1991, and was
duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
