A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 91-364 AND REQUESTING THE
LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO TAKE PROCEEDINGS
FOR THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDDING OF
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED CITY OF REDDING
ANNEXATION NO. 91-3 (SACRAMENTO RIVER WATERWAYS)
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby rescinds Resolution 91-364; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redding desires to initiate proceedings pursuant to
the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, Division 3,
commencing with Section 56000 of the California Government Code, for the
annexation to the City of Redding of the uninhabited territory designated City of
Redding Annexation No. 91-3 (SACRAMENTO RIVER WATERWAYS) ; and
WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited and a
description of the boundaries of the territory is set forth in Exhibits "Al" and
"A2" and depicted in Exhibits 11131" and 11132" attached hereto and by this
reference incorporated herein; and
WHEREAS, this proposal is not consistent with the existing sphere of
influence of the City of Redding and the City of Redding is requesting that the
Sphere of Influence be amended to include the parcels within this annexation
boundary; and
WHEREAS, it is desired to provide that the proposed annexation be subject
to the following terms and conditions:
None: and
WHEREAS, the reasons for this proposed annexation are as follows:
To facilitate the application and enforcement of the City's "River
Regulations" along the entire course of the Sacramento River from the north to
the south boundary of Redding; and
WHEREAS, a plan for providing services within the affected territory is set
forth in Exhibit "C" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, as
required by Government Code Section 56653;
NOW, THEREFORE, this resolution is hereby adopted and approved by the
City Council of the City of Redding, and the Local Agency Formation Commission ,�
of Shasta County is hereby requested to take proceedings for the annexation of
territory as described in Exhibits "A1" and "A2," according to the terms and
conditions stated above and in the manner provided by the Cortese-Knox Local
Government Reorganization Act of 1985.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Redding is
authorized and directed to file a certified copy of this resolution, along with
appropriate fees, with the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation
Commission of Shasta County.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and read
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 1 s t day of
October 1991, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following
vote:

LEGAL DESCRIPTION
ANNEXATION 91-3
BEGINNING at the southwest corner of the First Addition of the
Rothers Riverside Subdivision, as recorded in Book 10, of Maps, at
page 30, Shasta County Records; thence Southerly, following along
the east line of the Sacramento River and the west line of the Rothers
Riverside Subdivision, as recorded in Book 7, of Maps, at page 18,
Shasta County Records, 1,200 feet, more or less, to the southwest
corner of said Rothers Riverside Subdivision; thence continuing along
the east line of the Sacramento River and the west line of a parcel
deeded to Henry and Irene Rother, recorded November 21, 1967, in
Book 935, of Official Records, at page 678, Shasta County Records,
South 07120' East, 800 feet; thence South 39100' West, 760 feet;
thence South 21130' West, 600 feet; thence Southeasterly 330 feet,
more or less, to a point on the prolongation of the south line of said
Henry and Irene Rother parcel, which bears South 88016145" East, 125
feet, more or less, to a 3/4-inch iron pipe marked R.E. 3947 marking
the northwest corner of that certain 124.986 acre parcel shown on a
survey filed June 15, 1949 in Book 11, of Land surveys, at page 30,
Shasta County Records, thence Westerly, following the prolongation
of the southerly line of said Henry and Irene Rother parcel, 200 feet,
more or less, to the centerline of the Sacramento River; thence
Northerly, following said centerline, 3,550 feet, more or less, to the
westerly prolongation of the southerly boundary of the said First
Addition of the Rothers Riverside Subdivision, as recorded in Book
10, of Maps, at page 30; thence following said prolongation, Easterly,
200 feet, more or less, to the southwest corner of said First Addition
of the Rothers Riverside Subdivision and the point of beginning.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION
ANNEXATION 91-3
All that real property situate in the State of California, County of
Shasta, bounded on the East by the easterly high-water line of the
Sacramento River; on the South by the northeasterly prolongation of
the northwesterly line of Parcel No. 1, as shown on the map recorded
August 7, 1978 in Book 15 of Parcel Maps at Page 118, Shasta County
Records; on the North by the westerly prolongation of the southerly
line of that certain parcel described in a deed to Paul B. Stratte and
Helen Stratte recorded in Book 729 Official Records at Page 527,
Shasta County Records; and on the West by the westerly high-water
line of the Sacramento River from said northerly boundary to the
southeasterly prolongation of the section line between Sections 27 and
28, P. B. Reading Grant; and continuing easterly along said section
line to a point of intersection with the centerline of said River; and
southerly and easterly along said centerline to the southerly
boundary as described above.
