A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING OF
INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT UNDER
CHAPTER 9. 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING LOCATED AT 2704 S. MARKET
STREET, OWNED BY JOSEPHINE L. HEDMAN, TRUSTEE UNDER THE
JOSEPHINE L. HEDMAN 1986 TRUST DATED AUGUST 14 , 1986 .
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures located
within the City of Redding which are structurally unsafe or are
dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay or other causes which
constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life or a
likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a
nuisance by the City Council of the City of Redding and there-
after abated as provided therein; and
WHEREAS, the Building Official of the City of Redding has
made an inspection of building(s) located on real property as
hereinafter described and has declared them to be unsafe and/or a
hazard to safety, health and public welfare; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is categor-
ically exempt from the provisions of CEQA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redding that it is the intention of this City Council to
begin legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9. 36 of the

Redding Municipal Code on the property described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and made a part hereof . (�

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building(s) mentioned
t
hereinabove are hereby declared to be a public nuisance as pro-
vided by Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code and are
hereby ordered to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition
or removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the Board
of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all
proceedings provided in Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding Municipal
Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Redding be and hereby is authorized and directed to forward a
certified copy of this resolution to the Shasta County Recorder
for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 2nd day of January 1991 , and
was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None

That real property situate in the County of Shasta, City of
Redding, State of California, and is described as follows: .
BEGINNING at the intersection of the Northerly line of Elmwood
Street and the Easterly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad
right of way, as per map recorded in Book 5 of Maps, page 12 ,
Shasta County Records, thence North 7"41130" West along said
right of way 50.26 feet; thence, North 82 ` 18130" East 20. 00 feet;
thence North 7°41130" West 250. 87 feet; thence. North 85`58 ' East
569.84 feet to the true point of beginning thence South 2°43130"
East 101.87 feet; thence South 85'58 ' East 372. 18 feet to the
true point of beginning.
