RESOLUTION NO.
1
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
REJECTING THE SOLE BID OF ADB-ALNACO, INC. , FOR A PRECISION
APPROACH PATH INDICATOR VISUAL LIGHTING SYSTEM AT BENTON
AIRPORT (BID SCHEDULE NO. 2409) ; DECLARING THAT A PRECISION
APPROACH PATH INDICATOR SYSTEM MAY BE ACQUIRED IN THE OPEN
MARKET; AND AUTHORIZING THE NEGOTIATION THEREOF BY THE CITY
MANAGER.
WHEREAS, the City Council called for bids for a Precision
Approach Path Indicator visual lighting system at Benton Airport in
j Bid Schedule No. 2409 ; bid opening held November 20, 1990 ; and
WHEREAS, only one bid was received in the amount of

$14 ,110. 00 ; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Airports has advised the City Council
that there are indications that a purchase price which is more
favorable to the City of Redding could be achieved by negotiating
in the open market; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is
categorically exempt from the provisions of the California
j Environmental Quality Act;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are true and correct.
2 . That the bid received from ADB-Alnaco, Inc. on or before
November 20, 1990 , for a Precision Approach Path Indicator visual
lighting system under Bid Schedule No. 2409 is hereby rejected.
3 . That it is the opinion of this City Council that said
I system is available in the open market, and that through
negotiations can be acquired in the open market for a price which
is favorable to the City of Redding.

4. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to enter into negotiations with one or more providers of said
system, and to obtain same at a price favorable to the City of
I
Redding and not to exceed budgeted funds.
y I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced
and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Redding on the 2nd day of January , 1991 , and was duly adopted
! at said meeting by the following 4/5ths vote of Council:
