HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 92-197 - Rescinding Reso 92-185, & amending the COR municipal utilities schedule of rates for streetlight service, effective 07/01/91 RESOLUTION NO. 172 JT 7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 92-185, AND AMENDING THE CITY OF REDDING MUNICIPAL UTILITIES SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR STREETLIGHT SERVICE, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1991. i i WHEREAS, Section 16. 12. 320 of the Redding Municipal Code provides that the City Council shall establish electric utility rates by resolution; and WHEREAS, City Council has carefully considered the existing w rate structure for streetlight service, and has deemed it to be in the best interests of the City of Redding to establish new J i rates as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, which represent the cost of i serving the street-lighting inventory of all street lights in the City of Redding; and WHEREAS, City Council wishes to rescind Resolution No. 92-185, and adopt the herein Resolution; IT IS, THEREFORE, RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding, pursuant to Section 16. 12 . 320 of the Redding Municipal Code, hereby: 1 . Rescinds Resolution No. 92-185. 2. Amends the Municipal Utilities Schedule of Rates for N streetlight service as set forth in Exhibit "A" s attached hereto, retroactive to July 1 , 1991. J ti . 3 . With respect to City-owned streetlights only, directs staff to reimburse to the General Fund the difference between ( 1) the actual rates paid from July 1 , 1991 , to date and ( 2) the new rates set forth in this Resolution, which are retroactive to July 1, 1991. 4 . Directs the City Clerk and the Director of Finance of the City of Redding are to maintain available certified copies of this Resolution in their respective offices for inspection and review by any interested person or persons. HAYS, ity Attorney 2 u" CITY OF REDDING MUNICIPAL UTILITIES - SCHEDULE OF RATES 1 STREETLIGHT SERVICE AVAILABILITY a Throughout the entire City of Redding service area where the ,I facilities of the City of Redding Electric Utility are available, of adequate capacity, and are adjacent to the premises. APPLICABILITY To all unmetered outdoor lights maintained by the City of Redding Electric Utility on streets and highways and for all individual customers who request night lighting on private property where adequate City-owned facilities for light fixture mounting already exist. CHARACTER OF SERVICE Single-phase, 60 hertz, three-wire, nominal 120/240 volts (or three-wire, 120/208 volts at certain locations as are now or hereafter may be established by the City of Redding Electric Utility) . The lamp, luminaire, control device, bracket, and pole/standard will be maintained by the City of Redding Electric Utility. A lamp will be controlled to operate from dusk to dawn each night giving approximately 333 hours of lighting service monthly. TAX CLAUSE To the charges computed under the above rate, including any adjustments, shall be added the applicable proportionate part of any taxes or governmental impositions which are or may in the future be assessed on the basis of gross revenues of the City of Redding and/or the price or revenue from the electric energy or service sold and/or the volume of energy generated or purchased for sale and/or sold hereunder. PAYMENT + Bills for service will be rendered monthly. The customer may elect to receive an annual bill in the month of January for service under this rate. A billing period will not be less than 27 days or more than 33 days. Bills will be deemed delinquent if unpaid 20 days after the date of mailing pursuant to Chapter 14. 20 of the Redding Municipal Code. For ,any rate adjustments that may occur between monthly billing cycles, the appropriate billing charges will be prorated based upon the number of days for which electric service was provided under each applicable rate period.
