A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
APPROVING THE ENGINEER'S REPORT; ORDERING THE ANNEXATION OF
ADDITIONAL TERRITORY, NAMELY RIVER HEIGHTS PLANNED
DEVELOPMENT, INTO LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 7; AND
AUTHORIZING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF
ASSESSMENTS THEREIN PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING AND
LIGHTING ACT OF 1972 FOR 1992-93.

WHEREAS, on December 14, 1990, a Petition and Consent for the annexation of
additional territory into LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 7, and to the levy and
collection of assessments therein pursuant to the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972 signed

by the owner(s) of the land as shown on the last equalized County assessment roll, or entitled
to be shown as owner(s) on the next County assessment roll, or, where any of said property is
subject to a recorded written agreement of sale, are shown therein as purchaser(s), of all of the
territory more particularly hereinafter described, was filed with the City Clerk of the City of
Redding pursuant to the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, Division 15, Part 2 (commencing
with Section 22500), of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, and especially
Section 22608.1 thereof; and
WHEREAS,said Petition and Consent consented to Council's conduct of said proceedings
without notice and hearing, and without the filing of an Engineer's Report, all in accordance with
said Act and especially Section 22608.1 thereof; and
WHEREAS, proof satisfactory to Council of such Consent by the owner(s) of the property
within said territory, together with an Engineer's Report (although waived), has been filed with the
City Clerk of City;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS FOUND, DETERMINED, and ORDERED as follows:
1. That said Petition and Consent for the annexation of River Heights Planned
Development(hereinafter referred to as.Territory) into LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT
NO. 7 and to the levy and collection of assessments therein pursuant to the Landscaping and
Lighting Act of 1972 was signed by the owner(s) of the land as shown on the last equalized

County assessment roll, or entitled to be shown as owner(s) on the next County assessment roll,
or,where any of said property is subject to a recorded written agreement of sale, is shown therein
as purchaser(s).
2. That the annexation of said Territory into LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT
NO. 7 is described as follows:
All of that certain real property situated in the City of Redding, Shasta County, California,
being Lots 1 through 56 of the River Heights Planned Development (APN 72-190-44).
3. That the annexation of said Territory into LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT
NO. 7 and the authority of this Council to levy and collect assessments therein pursuant to said
Act are hereby approved without notice and hearing, pursuant to Section 22608.1 of said Act.
4. That the Report of the Engineer (although waived), on file with the City Clerk,
contains a full and detailed description of the improvements, the boundaries of the complete

District, and the proposed assessments upon assessable lots within the District. Said Report is
hereby approved by Council.
5. That said Territory be and hereby is ordered annexed into LANDSCAPE
MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 7 for the installation or construction of improvements and the
maintenance or servicing, or both, thereof, together with any and all incidental expenses in

connection therewith, all as more particularly authorized pursuant to said Act, and shall hereafter
be designated as "LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 7," by which name it shall
hereafter be referred to in all subsequent proceedings, including proceedings for the levy and
collection of assessments.
6. That proceedings shall be taken by this Council pursuant to said Act for any fiscal
year during which an assessment is to be levied and collected within said District.
7. That a public hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 1992, at the hour of 7 p.m.,
or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the City Council Chambers located at
1313 California Street, Redding, California, to address the levying of the proposed assessment
on River Heights Planned Development for fiscal year 1992-93.
8. That the City Clerk of the City of Redding is hereby authorized and directed to file
a certified copy of this Resolution, together with a map of said District, with the County
Assessor/Recorder and County Auditor of Shasta County.
HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced and read at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 21stday of April 992, and was duly
