LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 5
RIVER PARK HIGHLANDS SUBDIVISION
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE LEVY OF ASSESSMENTS FOR FISCAL
YEAR 1992-93.

WHEREAS, City Council has heretofore ordered the formation of LANDSCAPE
MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 5, all of which is now known as Units 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, and
Remaining Parcel R1, under authority granted by the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, as
set forth in Part 2 of Division 15 of the California Streets and Highways Code; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of said District is to provide maintenance to those landscaping
improvements required within the public right-of-way by the conditions of development approval
of the River Park Highlands Subdivision; and
WHEREAS, City Council intends to levy the special assessment upon the land equally
amongst the 176 lots/parcels of the River Park Highlands Subdivision which encompass the
District; and
WHEREAS, no costs for the original improvements will be assessed against land within

the District; all costs of improvements being a condition of the development of said Subdivision;
and

WHEREAS, only costs for maintenance of landscaping, repairs to the irrigation system,
electric and water charges, replacement of vegetation as necessary, and any and all incidental
expenses, including administrative costs, in connection therewith will be assessed; and

WHEREAS, no new improvements or substantial changes in existing improvements are
proposed for fiscal year 1992-93;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
j Redding as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are true and correct.
2. That the District Engineer is hereby ordered to prepare and file the Report required ;
by Article 4 of Chapter 1 of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972.

HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced and read at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 21s-tday ofApril, 1992, and was duly
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Anderson, Arness, Dahl, Kehoe & Moss
NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
