A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF 21 PARTITION SCREENS AND 21
PUSHBARS FROM DOWNTOWN FORD IN SACRAMENTO FOR THE 1992
POLICE VEHICLES BEING PURCHASED THROUGH THE STATE,
PURSUANT TO REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION
4.20.080(A) ( 4) , AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
SIGN THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTATION.
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 1991-92 Budget provides for the
purchase of twenty-one ( 21) 1992 marked police vehicles through
the State Cooperative Purchasing Department; and
WHEREAS, the State bid has been awarded to Ford Motor Co.
via Downtown Ford in Sacramento; and
WHEREAS, the partition screens. and pushbars in existing
Police vehicles are not interchangeable with the vehicles being
purchased due to design changes; and
WHEREAS, Downtown Ford in Sacramento offers installation of
both items as an option; and
WHEREAS, the City' s Shop General Foreman recommends that
these options be purchased for the 21 new vehicles, at a cost not
to exceed $15,300 . 00 ; and
WHEREAS, at the request of the City Manager and upon
approval by City Council, Redding Municipal Code Section
4 .20 . 080(A) ( 4) authorizes dispensing with the bidding process
when the goods or services proposed to be purchased do not
constitute a Public Works project; and
WHEREAS the proposed purchase of partition screens and
pushbars for the 21 new vehicles does not constitute a Public
Works Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding as follows:
1. That the foregoing recitals are true and correct.

2 . That, pursuant to Redding Municipal Code Section
4 .20 . 080(A) ( 4) , Council hereby authorizes the purchase of 21
partition screens and 21 pushbars for the new vehicles being
purchased through the State, in an amount not to exceed
$15, 300. 00.
3 . That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to execute the necessary documentation on behalf of the City of
Redding; and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to attest the
signature of the City Manager and to affix the seal to the
documentation when appropriate.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 7th day of April, 1992 , and was duly
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
