RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AUTHORIZING A VOLUNTARY FURLOUGH PROGRAM FOR EMPLOYEES AS PART OF
AN OVERALL BUDGET-REDUCTION PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 1991-1992.
WHEREAS, the City of Redding has initiated an overall budget-reduction
plan for fiscal year 1991-1992 to reduce the budget by four percent in order
to counter the current adverse economic impacts and legislative action which
are detrimentally affecting the budget of the City of Redding; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redding does not now currently authorize voluntary
furloughs for employees; and
WHEREAS, voluntary furloughs of employees are required in order that the
City of Redding meet its goal of a four percent budget reduction for the 1991-
1992 fiscal year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Redding hereby finds
that a voluntary furlough program is a required element of an overall budget-
reduction plan to reduce the budget for fiscal year 1991-1992 by four percent,
and that the City Council hereby authorizes the implementation of such
voluntary furlough program as part of said budget-reduction plan.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was introduced and read
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 3rd day

of March, 1992, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
