A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING AUTHORIZING THE CHANGE IN PAYEE UNDER EXISTING JOB ORDER NO. 9368-21 FROM MCDONOUGH, HOLLAND & ALLEN TO DeCUIR & SOMACH, ATTORNEYS-AT-LAW. WHEREAS, over the past several years the Electric Department has utilized the services of Stuart Somach and Sandra Dunn on certain legal matters associated with the City' s various hydroelectric projects; and WHEREAS, both are widely respected for their background in water rights; and WHEREAS, until recently both were attorneys for the law firm of McDonough, Holland & Allen in Sacramento; and WHEREAS, $26 ,076. 94 remains to be expended under Job Order No. 9368-21: Spring Creek Pumped Storage Project; and WHEREAS, in December 1991 Mr. Somach, along with Dennis DeCuir, formed DeCuir & Somach, Attorneys-at-Law; and Ms. Dunn I has since joined the new law firm; and WHEREAS, the Electric Department' s relationship with McDonough, Holland & Allen has been premised upon specific business relationships with Mr. Somach and Ms. Dunn, who have served the City well on water-rights matters in the past; they have also gained a familiarity with the water-rights issues that have had and will continue to have an impact on the City as it .r. �c endeavors to license the proposed Spring Creek Pumped Storage Project; and WHEREAS, the Electric Department would like to continue such I relationship, which means changing the payee under Job Order No. 9368-21 to DeCuir & Somach, Attorneys-at-Law; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding that the Finance Department do whatever is necessary to change the payee under Job Order No. 9368-21 to jDeCuir & Somach, Attorneys-at-Law.
